Christopher S. Zarella, MD, joins the staff of The Waldorf Center for Plastic Surgery, located in Portland, Ore., according to a press release from SBWire.
Here are five things to know:
1. Dr. Zarella is certified by the American Board of Surgery and is the first and only fellowship-trained pediatric plastic surgeon in Oregon.
2. He attended Wake Forest University for both medical school and his general surgery residency program, and completed an additional residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the Oregon Health and Science University.
3. Having a passion for helping children, Dr. Zarella pursued a fellowship training in craniofacial and pediatric plastic surgery at the Children's National Medical Center in Washington, D.C.
4. He is an active member of the cleft palate team at the Randall Children's Hospital at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center, where he has corrected numerous congenital deformities, including cleft lip and palate, craniosynostosis, other skull deformities and deformities of the pediatric hand and foot.
5. Dr. Zarella has also performed a wide range of cosmetic and reconstructive procedures for adults, including facial rejuvenation, body contouring and both cosmetic and reconstructive breast surgery.
