Rhetha Helen "Ann" Kidwiler, 70, passed away Nov. 23, Herald-Mail Media reports.
Ms. Kidwiler began working for the Washington County (Md.) Hospital as an operating room housekeeper in 1979. She later became a central processing technician, responsible for sterilizing surgical instruments.
Ms. Kidwiler was the first staff member hired for the Washington County Hospital's Robinwood Surgical Center in Hagerstown, Md., when it opened in the mid-1990s. She served patients at the hospital and surgical center for more than 35 years and remained close friends with many coworkers.
She is survived by her husband, as well as several children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
