Steven Sanacore, a nurse with Surgical Center of South Jersey in Mt. Laurel, will travel to Honduras for a week to assist free surgeries courtesy of a local association of ASCs.
"This flight scholarship will enable a nurse to join a team of volunteers who will provide high quality surgical care for approximately 60 patients the week of July 27-Aug. 3,” said Maria Doria, medical missions manager at One World Surgery.
The New Jersey Association of Ambulatory Surgery Centers is sponsoring Mr. Sanacore's trip to the Holy Family Surgery Center, which offers the free surgeries.
One World Surgery hosts up to two medical mission teams every month, with up to 60 volunteers per team.
