August 15 was National ASC Day, an opportunity to promote community awareness of the benefits of choosing an ambulatory surgery center.
Several centers and an industry company took advantage of the day to celebrate and raise awareness of the low-cost, high-quality care available at ASCs.
Access MediQuip.
For National ASC Day, Access MediQuip representatives visited ASC-sponsored events to help raise awareness of the positive impact ASCs have on their patients and communities. Access MediQuip is a Lake Mary, Fla.-based surgical implant management company.
Baptist Physicians Surgery Center (Lexington, Ky.).
Baptist Physicians Surgery Center celebrated National ASC Day and the center's 99.9 percent July patient satisfaction rate with a frozen yogurt event. "Our staff is truly awesome," says Leslie Cottrell, associate administrator.
Central Arkansas Surgical Center (Russellville).
National ASC Day also marked the Central Arkansas Surgical Center's three-year anniversary. To celebrate, the facility hosted a cookout for staff and physicians and was "Open to the Public" to host facility tours on Aug. 14, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Central Arkansas Surgical Center opened in 2010 through a partnership between local physicians and Meridian Surgical Partners.
Cleburne (Texas) Surgical Center.
Earlier this summer, Cleburne Surgical Center held an appreciation event for local medical practices and healthcare professionals to increase public awareness of newly added and well-established services offered at the center. The center is a Meridian Surgical Partners facility. "We are very pleased with our partnership with Cleburne Surgical Center and how the facility, physicians and staff have made such a positive impact in that community," says Buddy Bacon, chief executive officer of Meridian Surgical Partners.
Hudson Valley Center for Digestive Health (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.)
Hudson Valley Center for Digestive Health sponsored a National ASC Day celebration held in the lobby of its joint venture partner Hudson Valley Hospital Center. The center is a joint venture between the hospital, four physicians and Physicians Endoscopy.
