Bartlett (Tenn.) High School debuted a medical device engineering shop for its students to create technologies and prepare for their secondary education, The Commercial Appeal reports.
Here's what you need to know.
1. Up to 150 students can use the shop, and it will eventually be opened to the general public through the Tennessee College of Applied Technology.
2. The shop has a dozen different machining machines and technology simulators.
3. The machines were purchased with a $215,000 grant from the college. The college has pledged an additional $100,000 for the future.
