DaVita Healthcare in Denver will acquire Renal Ventures, a privately-held dialysis care company, for $415 million.
Here are five things to know:
1. With this acquisition, DaVita plans to expand its kidney care.
2. DaVita comprises about 2,200 clinics across 46 states and 10 countries.
3. About 184,000 patients receive care through DaVita Kidney Care.
4. The addition of Renal Ventures allows DaVita to add 36 dialysis clinics in six states.
5. The Multispecialty Physician Partners and Physician Venture Partners divisions of Renal, which provide infusion and vascular centers, already operate in three states.
"In today's changing healthcare environment, combining with DaVita…will benefit all of our stakeholders," said Larry Chatfield, Renal chief executive.
