The Temple Historic Preservation Committee will designate Temple, Texas-based Baylor Scott & White's main campus a historically significant site Nov. 1, the Temple Daily Telegram reports.
Here are four notes:
1. The main campus comprises three circular buildings once called The Temple Tower of Therapy. It is also home to the Baylor Scott & White Day Surgery Center.
2. The site will receive a Temple Historic Marker during a reception.
3. In 1963, BS&W moved from its original location featuring more than two dozen scattered buildings to a facility on a Temple hilltop. The move helped shape a building boom away from downtown in the late 1960s through the early 1990s.
4. Over the years BS&W expanded its campus to include the surgery center, specialty treatment center, diagnostic clinic, critical care center, dialysis center, pediatric clinic, pain management center, orthopedic clinic, eye institute and more.
