ASCA formed an affinity partnership with SPH Analytics to offer discounted Outpatient and Ambulatory Surgery Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems rates.
Here are five things to know:
1. ASCA evaluated OAS CAHPS survey providers and decided to pursue a partnership with SPH Analytics due to their expertise with the survey and history of working with ASCA members.
2. The OAS CAHPS survey, which aims to measure patient experience and overall care at Medicare-certified ASCs, is currently voluntary but could become mandatory next year. If and when the survey becomes mandatory, ASCs will be required to contract with a CMS-approved survey vendor to report quality data.
3. ASCs can begin the survey process ahead of the CMS mandate to identify issues for improved survey results and take action. Centers can also use surveys as a tool to understand patient perceptions and increase overall satisfaction.
4. Only ASCA members will have access to SPH Analytics' special rates on the survey.
5. There isn't a web-based version of the survey; the survey is administered via phone, mail or a combination of both. The surveyors target at least 300 completed surveys during a 12 month period and make an attempt to contact every patient.
