8 reads for new entrepreneurs

As a new entrepreneur, information is a precious commodity. The following are eight great books every new entrepreneur should read, according to Forbes.

1. "Business Model Generation" by Alexander Osterwalder. This book compiles knowledge on building a business plan from more than 450 experts in 45 countries.

2. "How to Win Friends and Influence People" by Dale Carnegie. This classic read still captures motivations in relationship building, despite having been published nearly 80 years ago.

3. "The Power of Habit: Why We Do What We Do in Life and Business" by Charles Duhigg. Opening up the individual psyche, Mr. Duhigg shares insight entrepreneurs can use to anticipate patterns of human behavior.

4. "The Lean Startup: How Today's Entrepreneurs Use Continuous Innovation to Create Radically Successful Businesses" by Eric Ries. Mr. Ries illustrates ways entrepreneurs can take advantage of technology to leverage lean business models.

5. "The Intelligent Investor" by Benjamin Graham. This book, published in 1949, delves into the basics of stock markets.

6. "Cold Calling Techniques (That Really Work)" by Stephen Schiffman. This book covers best practices for having the most productive conversations possible with new business contacts.

7. "The Founder's Dilemma" by Noam Wasserman. Mr. Wasserman explores the pitfalls of managing in close entrepreneurial environments.

8. "Steve Jobs" by Walter Isaacson. Mr. Isaacson's biography of Mr. Jobs is a unique story of failures, successes and the prices paid for both.
