Northstar Healthcare reported $15.1 million in estimated revenue for the second quarter of this year, up from $9.2 million in the second quarter of 2013. The company expects to meet its annual revenue projection of $74 million.

A study presented at the Alzheimer's Association annual meeting concludes cataract surgery slows decline in memory and thinking in dementia patients. Dementia patients who underwent cataract surgery showed greater improvement in behavior and quality of life.
Two Maryland ASCs merge.
Orthopaedic Associates of Maryland Surgery Center and Ellicott City Ambulatory Surgery Center merged and will consolidate operations in Ellicott City, Md. The ASC merger is a joint venture between Merritt Healthcare and 14 physician partners.
Mebane Park Surgery Center appoints new director.
Dana Bryant, RN, has been appointed the new director of Mebane (N.C.) Medical Park ASC. She will be responsible for administrative and clinical operations of the ASC. Prior to her new role, Ms. Bryant was the director of operative services at the Women's Hospital in Greensboro, N.C.
17 AmSurg centers in 90th percentile for patient satisfaction.
