Surgery Partners filed for an initial public offering IPO of common stock on Aug. 17. The IPO indicates a fundraising target of $100 million.

Man in NY poses as physician for 3 years before being caught
A man in New York posed as a physician for three years before being arrested. Mr. Lee-Edwards raised suspicion after patients complained of his off-putting bedside manner and unorthodox prescription practices.

Medicare's voluntary bundled payment program grows by 2,100 participants
The CMS announced its voluntary bundled payment program increased by 2,100 participants. The participants include 360 organizations that entered into agreements with the CMS to partake in the Bundled Payments for Care Improvement initiative and 1,775 providers that have partnered with those organizations.

Stryker & Arthrex named among top companies to work for in the U.S.
Stryker and Arthrex were named to Fortune's 2015 "100 Best Companies to Work For" list. Stryker was ranked No. 19 on the list and Arthrex was ranked No. 94.

Orthopedic Associates of Wisconsin begins construction on $20M surgery center
The Orthopedic Associates of Wisconsin is constructing a new 67,000 square-foot facility that will include a clinic, surgery center, MRI and physical therapy services. The surgery center will open in June 2016 and is projected to cost $20 million.

UnitedHealthcare, Anthem among insurers picked for Iowa Medicaid contracts
The Iowa Department of Human Services awarded Medicare managed care contracts to Amerigroup Iowa, UnitedHealthcare Plan of the River Valley, Wellcare of Iowa and AmeriHealth Caritas.

Owner of 3 California medical clinics admits paying kickbacks to patient recruiters
Hovik Simitan, the owner and operator of three medical clinics in Los Angeles, plead guilty to submitting more than $4.5 million in fraudulent claims to Medicare. Mr. Simitan admitted that he and his co-conspirators paid cash kickbacks to patient recruiters who brought Medicare beneficiaries to the clinics from February 2010 through June 2014.
