The outlook for the U.S. healthcare market's ASC sector is positive, according to HealthStream.
Four insights:
1. The ASC market was expected to reach $36 billion in 2018. By 2020, it will grow to an estimated $40 billion.
2. In 2005, 32 percent of outpatient surgeries were performed in an ASC, compared to more than half in 2017.
3. Based on population growth forecasts alone, analysts predict outpatient procedure volumes will increase 14 percent from 2016 to 2026.
4. When the shift in surgical procedures is considered alongside other factors, outpatient procedure volumes are expected to grow 16 percent from 2016 to 2026.
