10 best & worst states for physician practices

Physicians Practice has named the five best and five worst states for medical practice in the country.

The report, sponsored by The Doctors Company, examines a number of metrics, including state data on cost of living, physician density, disciplinary actions taken against physicians as well as tax burden per capita.

Here are the five best states to practice, according to the report:

•    Idaho
•    Nevada
•    Georgia
•    Texas
•    Utah

Here are the five worst states to practice:

•    New York
•    Maryland
•    Hawaii
•    California
•    Massachusetts
