Western Connecticut Orthopedic Surgical Center wants to add 2+ ORs

Danbury-based Western Connecticut Orthopedic Surgical Center is awaiting state approval for an expansion project.

Three quick points:

1. WCOSC, which has 15 physician investors, applied for a certificate of need to add two or more operating rooms over the next three years.

2. The project would cost $734,707, according to Definitive Healthcare.

3. WCOSC's application stated that it "requires additional capacity that cannot be achieved through the extension of days/hours of operation."
