Vanderbilt University Medical Center Delays $200M Surgery Center, Medical Complex Project

Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn., has announced that it will be pushing back the timeline on its $200 million, 500,000-square-foot medical complex and surgery center project in Cool Springs, Tenn., according to a report by The Tennessean.

The land for the project was purchased for $5.1 million in 2010. Initially the project was expected to cost about $60 million.

The project is being delayed to a $250 million reduction of the medical center's budget over the next two fiscal years.
