University of Miami Health System is building a 225,000-square-foot outpatient healthcare facility on 10 acres in Miami, the South Florida Business Journal reports.
What you should know:
1. The campus will house ambulatory surgery suites and will feature specialists from Miami-based providers Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, among others.
2. UM hasn't made a development timeline public yet.
3. The outpatient center will be one of the anchors of the $4 billion mixed-use SoLé Mia development.
4. UM President Julio Frenk said, "This new facility, with the high-quality, specialized care it will offer to the surrounding communities, builds upon the longstanding partnership that the university has with our South Florida neighbors."
