NorthStar Surgical Center in Lubbock, Texas, has announced it has expanded its services to provide total shoulder, knee and ankle replacement surgeries.
"Ambulatory surgery centers are doing more and more cases traditionally found being done in a hospital setting," said John D. Brock, NorthStar administrator, in a news release. "To offer patients an outpatient procedure (overnight for knees and ankles and same-day for shoulders) that historically required a multiple-day hospital stay is in the best interest of the patient, the payor and the system as a whole. This is also consistent with our mission of providing unparalleled medical expertise and cost-effective care."
NorthStar Surgical Center is physician-owned by 35 local partners. The ASC offers services including pain management, orthopedics, ophthalmology, gynecology, urology, gastroenterology, general surgery, ENT, cosmetic surgery and podiatry.
