Saint Thomas Midtown (Tenn.) Hospital is building a more than 100,000-square-foot hospital inside its current hospital that will include a surgery center, the Nashville Business Journal reports.
What you should know:
1. The hospital is building the new facility, dubbed the Saint Thomas Hospital for Women at Midtown, by remodeling two floors in its existing space and creating a dedicated entrance for the new facility.
2. The highlight of the project will be a new surgery center. The center includes dedicated surgical suites, two 3D-mammography machines and an unspecified number of DaVinci robots.
3. The new facility will also feature a renovated labor and delivery center, an obstetrics intensive care unit, an expanded neonatal ICU and an obstetrics emergency department.
