Regent Surgical Health has a new ambulatory surgery center physician partnership in Alaska.
Regent is partnering with the Surgery Center of Wasilla in Alaska to serve patients in the Matanuska-Susitna Valley near Anchorage.
"Regent and its staff are excellent business partners who are incredibly resourceful," said Evan Wolf, MD, an ophthalmologist and partner in the center. "It has been very rewarding to expand the surgical options in the Valley for my patients."
Here are five key notes on the center:
1. This is a 12-physician partnership.
2. The center includes pain management, orthopedics, ENT, urology, podiatry, general surgery, gynecology, ophthalmology and varicose vein treatment.
3. The ASC is located 45 miles outside Anchorage; Wasilla now has around 9,000 citizens, up from 300 in 1970.
4. This is the second surgery center Regent has developed in Alaska. In 2010, the company opened the Surgery Center of Anchorage which is now partnered with Alaska Regional Hospital, an HCA affiliate.
5. The facility is closer to patients in the Mat-Su valley, which means they can have access to outpatient surgery without traveling too far from home.
"With Regent's help, we have been successful in bringing together a diverse group of physicians with a common goal to improve the delivery of surgical services to the community," said Thomas Grissom, MD, board president of Surgery Center of Wasilla and pain management specialist.
