Tulsa (Okla.) ER and Hospital, a physician-owned micro-hospital, is opening its doors to patients July 29, according to local news station ABC 8 Tulsa.
Three details to know:
1. Tulsa ER and Hospital is a privately owned hospital and will not accept Medicare or Medicaid. It has applied to be in-network with major insurance companies. At this time, the hospital does not have any in-network contracts but Medical Director Mark Blubaugh, DO, told ABC 8 that the hospital plans to charge in-network rates for patients with private insurance.
2. Tulsa ER and Hospital is half the size of a traditional hospital, but still offers patients the same treatment and equipment.
3. The hospital plans to post prices for procedures online and will set a flat fee for services such as X-rays, ultrasounds and CT scans.
