The certificate of need received by Novant Health to build an ASC in Holly Springs, N.C., is facing challenges from the three parties the organization beat out to receive the CON, according to a Triangle Business Journal report.
Rex Hospital, WakeMed Cary Hospital and Duke University Health System filed appeals with the North Carolina Division of Facilities Management challenging Novant's plans for an $8.2 million, 13,000-square-foot ASC.
The appeals filing triggers an automatic 270-day mediation period, according to the report. If the organizations fail to resolve their differences during that time, an administrative law judge would review the matter.
