Froedtert South proposes hospital with outpatient space — 4 notes

A partnership between Kenosha, Wis.-based United Hospital System and Froedtert Health in Wauwatosa is acquiring a 41.25-acre site for a medical development in Mount Pleasant, Wis., Milwaukee Business Journal reports.

Here’s what you should know:

1. The entity, called Froedtert South, plans to build a 98-bed hospital and medical office building.

2. The project would include a 65-bed hospital, as well as a four-story, 50,000-square-foot medical office building for outpatient services and physician space.

3. Froedtert South President and CEO Ric Schmidt told Kenosha News the project will be built in phases with a timeline similar to that of St. Catherine’s Medical Center in Pleasant Prairie, Wis. That project began as a two-story hospital and expanded to a four-story hospital with room for an ASC.

4. The Mount Pleasant Plan Commission will review Froedtert South’s proposal Oct. 17.
