The former Willmar, Minn.-based Carris Surgery Center was renamed Avera Surgery Center Jan. 1, KSFY ABC reports.
Here's what you should know:
1. The change transpired when Willmar-based Carris Health officially joined Sioux Falls, S.D.-based Avera Health. The merger was first announced in September 2018.
2. The former ACMC Clinic in Willmar became Avera Medical Group Carlson. The services offered remain the same.
3. About 150 staff members became Avera employees.
"It leaves us poised for continued growth together and expands our capabilities to serve the health needs of the region," said Mary Maerten, CEO and regional president of Avera in Marshall, Minn.
