5 new joint venture ASCs — January/February 2018

Here are five new joint venture ASCs announced or opened in the past couple months.

Lincoln, Neb.-based Bryan Medical Center plans to open its new medical building with an outpatient surgery center in March, 1011 Now reports. The building is a joint venture between Bryan Medical Center and 76 physician investors.

Mass.-based Hallmark Health System plans to build an ASC at its Lawrence Memorial Hospital campus in Medford, Mass., according to a Hallmark Health statement issued to Wicked Local. The proposed facility will be a 17,500-square-foot joint venture with Shields Health Care Group of Quincy, Mass., and physician groups.

Roslyn, N.Y.-based St. Francis Hospital of Catholic Health Services of Long Island partnered with Westchester, Ill.-based Regent Surgical Health to open the East Hills (N.Y.) Surgery Center.

Jefferson Health, Rothman Institute, NueHealth and several Philadelphia physicians formed a joint venture to open the Jefferson Surgery Center in Cherry Hill (N.J.), The Inquirer reports. Jefferson Health and the Rothman Institute are based in Philadelphia, while NueHealth is based in Leawood, Kan.

Wilmington Surgery Center, Wilmington ASC, New Hanover Surgical Center and OWP4 and New Hanover Regional, all based in Wilmington, N.C., are competing for certificate of need approval from the North Carolina Department of Health, WilmingtonBiz reports. New Hanover Surgical Center and OPW4 proposed a new joint venture ASC with one OR and two procedure rooms.
