Medline is now sterilizing N95 masks to offset COVID-19-related supply shortages, CBS Chicago reports.
Three details:
1. Medline is collecting masks used in facilities across the country and sterilizing ones that are still in good condition, meaning they're fully intact with no blemishes.
2. Medline has already distributed masks to health systems that signed up to be involved, but the supplier is pending FDA approval for the masks to have N95 designation.
3. Medline plans to reprocess 100,000 masks a day.
