John Stossel, host of "Stossel" on the Fox Business Network, says over-regulation by the FDA is harming Americans in an editorial on Fox's website.
Mr. Stossel cites the FDA's regulation of smartphone medical applications, including one developed by a physician at the Cleveland Clinic that helped physicians regulate the amount of radiation given to women with breast cancer, as one of the reasons the FDA's regulatory process hinders medical innovation. The physician abandoned the idea after the FDA required proof of its safety, Mr. Stossel wrote.
