Mansfield, Mass.-based Covidien announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Given Imaging, headquartered in Yoqneam, Israel.
Given Imaging is a provider of gastroenterology medical devices, including its flagship PillCam, a swallowed capsule endoscope. In total, the company has seven product lines across 21 GI disease states.
The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to be completed by March 31, 2014.
