Citizens Memorial Hospital adopts da Vinci system for outpatient & inpatient procedures — 4 insights

Bolivar, Mo.-based Citizens Memorial Hospital surgeons can now perform both inpatient and outpatient surgeries using the da Vinci system after the hospital installed a da Vinci in its surgical suite.

Here's what you should know:

1. CMH installed its first da Vinci system in 2015 and added a second da Vinci to its surgical suite in September 2018.

2. The hospital upgraded to the da Vinci X Surgical System and moved the da Vinci Si-e Surgical System to the CMH Ambulatory Surgery Center in Bolivar.

3. CMH also purchased the new Eluxeo 700 series Fujifilm Endoscopes, which were launched in July. The equipment was installed in the endoscopy suite at its imaging center in Bolivar.

4. CMH surgeons use the two da Vinci robots to perform hysterectomies, prostatectomies, colon resections, gallbladder removals and hernia pairs. They use the endoscopes for improved visualization during upper endoscopy and colonoscopy procedures.
