Baxter International is close to acquiring Gambro AB for about $4 billion, according to a Bloomberg Businessweek report.
Gambro is a Swedish-based medical technology company that develops, manufactures and supplies products and therapies for kidney and liver dialysis, myeloma kidney therapy and other extracorporeal therapies for chronic and acute patients.
The deal may be finalized within two weeks. Baxter has been negotiating with Gambro for almost a year.
Baxter International is headquartered in Deerfield, Ill.
