Alma Lasers Receives FDA Clearance for Skin Resurfacing Module

Alma Lasers has announced it has received FDA clearance for its new fractionated skin resurfacing module for the company's Accent family of products, according to a news release (pdf).

The PixelRF module is designed to ablate and heat skin through delivery of energy without using disposables. The company says it uses micro plasma radiofrequency technology to improve skin imperfections without the skin color limitation.

"Technology is constantly evolving and we're committed to staying on the forefront of delivering the most advanced, efficacious solutions that enhance clinical outcomes, promote positive patient experience while maximizing return on investment for the practice at low cost with no disposables," said Avi Farbstein, executive vice president and general manager of Alma Lasers, in the release. "The PixelRF module adds a new versatility to the Accent platforms. Practitioners now have the multiple technologies they need for an overall best-in-class treatment depending on each individual client's age, skin condition and downtime preference."

Alma Lasers has its U.S. headquarters in Buffalo Grove, Ill.
