Little hope exists on the horizon for Zika funding approval before Congress takes a seven-week recess, according to The Hill.
Here are five things to know:
1. On July 6, Senate Republicans said they would not budge on their funding bill.
2. Senate Democrats responded by reiterating they won't approve the funding bill.
3. The $1.1 billion Republican funding bill blocks Planned Parenthood funds, relaxes Clean Water Act rules on pesticides and pulls money from the Affordable Care Act and Ebola funds.
4. The Democrats are ardently opposing the funding bill and call for a measure presenting more bi-partisan views.
5. The Senate already passed a $1.1 billion bill that excluded the partisan elements, but the House blocked it.
