All-cause hospital transfer and wrong-site surgery rates dropped in the fourth quarter compared to the third quarter of 2018, according to the ASC Quality Collaboration's latest ASC quality report
The report's data was collected from 1,609 ASCs (999 multispecialty and 610 single-specialty) in every state except Vermont from July 1, 2018, through Sept. 30, 2018. Organizations such as the Ambulatory Surgery Center Association, Ambulatory Surgical Centers of America, Westchester, Ill.-based Regent Surgical Health and Deerfield, Ill.-based Surgical Care Affiliates agreed to collect and submit data.
The rate of incidents is calculated per 1,000 ASC admissions.
