A student attending Lexington-based University of Kentucky may have contracted a disease, which causes meningococcal disease, according to Lex18.com.
Here are four notes:
1. Officials are still waiting on confirmation of the diagnosis.
2. A local hospital treated the student on Feb. 22.
3. Officials have contacted those at risk of exposure and gave such individuals a medication to help prevent the disease's transmission.
4. Officials say anyone who was not been contacted is not considered to be at increased risk.
