A new report from Cofense detailed the most common healthcare phishing emails.
Cofense studied a sample of 1,400 clients across 50 countries from July 2017 to June 2018, as well as 800,000 reported phishing emails from January 2018 to July 2018.
Here are the key insights to know:
1. The most common healthcare phishing emails were fake payment notifications, making up 58 percent of phishing emails.
2. New message alerts were the next most common, at 25.5 percent.
3. The third most common type of phishing email was fake invoices, at 16.5 percent.
