The Joint Commission and the National Quality Forum awarded Premier the John M. Eisenberg Patient Safety and Quality Award for QUEST, Premier's quality improvement initiative.

2. The Joint Commission and NQF created the award in honor of John M. Eisenberg, MD, who served as the administrator of the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. Dr. Eisenberg also was a member of NQF's founding board of directors.
3. The John M. Eisenberg Patient Safety and Quality Award honors those organizations working to enhance overall healthcare quality by making care safe, accessible, reliable and patient-centered.
4. In 2008, Premier launched QUEST to help health systems deliver effective care for all patients.
