Farmington, Conn.-based The Jackson Laboratory and Durham, N.C.-based bioMérieux USA are collaborating via a sponsored research agreement.
Here are four points:
1. Under the research agreement, the two companies will create precision diagnostics for pathogens and their antimicrobial resistances in infectious diseases.
2. A biotech company, bioMérieux develops in vitro diagnostics for infectious diseases.
3. bioMérieux will team up with George Weinstock, PhD, who is a Jackson Laboratory professor, Evnin Family Chair and director of microbial genomics.
4. Dr. Weinstock's laboratory is focused on next-generation DNA sequencing and metagenomic analysis.
