The Massachusetts Nurses Association is pushing state lawmakers to pass two pieces of legislation they say would improve patient safety, according to a WWLP report.
One piece would mandate and regulate the nurse-to-patient staffing ratio. Currently, California is the only state that has mandated such a staffing ratio. The other piece of legislation would prohibit mandatory nurse overtime, according to the report.
