H&P Industries, which is under investigation by the Food and Drug Administration over potential bacterial contamination of some of its products including medical pads and wipes, has ceased production after U.S. Marshals Service visited the manufacturer to seize materials, according to reports from MSNBC and the Journal Sentinel in Milwaukee, Wis.
H&P Industries, which distributes products through the Triad Group, had been previously asked by the FDA to voluntarily stop production of drug products.
The Triad Group is facing a lawsuit by a Texas couple who blame the company's products for the death of their child, according to the Journal Sentinel.
The FDA has come under scrutiny by U.S. senators for a perceived failure to take earlier public action with H&P Industries and the Triad Group over the possible manufacturing sterility and contamination problems.
In addition to the medical pads and wipes recall, H&P Industries has also recalled lubricating jelly and laxative suppositories, according to the MSNBC report.
