How choosing the right ASC furniture can improve patient safety

Setting goals for improving technical efficiency and safety levels can be done through choosing the right furniture for your ASC, according to the Outpatient Ophthalmic Surgery Society.

The OOSS outlined the following x benefits and strategies to choosing the right ASC furniture in the latest issue of The Ophthalmic ASC magazine.

1. Manufacturer goals. Choosing furniture based on the manufacturer's set goals for efficiency and safety is one way to make ASCs more efficient. For example, choosing a surgery chair that can make patient transport, surgery and recovery easier can reduce burden for both staff and patients.

2. Taking outcomes into consideration. ASCs should consider if a surgical chair allows procedures to go more efficiently, helps mitigate surgeon fatigue and improves safety when making a purchase decision.

3. Increasing efficiency. A surgical chair that is designed with efficiency in mind can improve the patient experience.
