HHS has awarded $218 million to 26 hospital organizations, which have been tapped as Hospital Engagement Networks to help identify and spread solutions to reduce healthcare-acquired conditions.
Hospital Engagement Networks will develop learning collaborations for hospitals and provide a wide array of initiatives and activities to improve patient safety. They will also be required to conduct intensive training programs to teach and support hospitals in making patient care safer; provide technical assistance to hospitals so that hospitals can achieve quality measurement goals; and establish and implement a system to track and monitor hospital progress in meeting quality improvement goals.
The 26 organizations receiving awards includes the American Hospital Association, Catholic Healthcare West, Healthcare Association of New York State, Hospital & Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania, Joint Commission Resources and Lifepoint Hospitals.
