Dr. Peter Pronovost Named Director of Johns Hopkins New Patient Safety Center

Patient safety expert Peter J. Pronovost, MD, a professor of anesthesiology and critical care medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, has been named director of the newly established Armstrong Institute for Patient Safety and Quality, according to a hospital news release.

Along with becoming director of the institute, Pronovost was named Johns Hopkins Medicine's senior vice president for patient safety and quality.

Johns Hopkins recently received a $10 million gift to create the Armstrong Institute, which will oversee all of the current patient safety and quality efforts at Johns Hopkins Medicine.
