Donald Russell Johnson, MD, a dermatologist from Anacortes, Wash., has had his license suspended for allegations including patient abandonment and criminal assault, according to a Washington State Department of Health news release.
Dr. Johnson has been accused of closing his medical offices without telling patients. He also allegedly did not make arrangements for patients or other healthcare providers to have access to patient medical records and healthcare information.
He did not respond to the Medical Quality Assurance Commission's requests for information and in September was charged with three counts of domestic-related assault.
Dr. Johnson cannot practice medicine in Washington until the charges are resolved.
