Healthcare professionals at Arroyo Grande (Calif.) Community Hospital are using donated dolls to help ease anxiety and facilitate education among pediatric patients, according to a Santa Maria Times report.
The dolls were a donation from the Arroyo Grande Valley Kiwanis Club. The cloth dolls that are either white or off-white come with flannel blankets and markers so children can draw on the dolls.
According to the report, the dolls can help ease tension while children wait in emergency rooms. Physicians also use the dolls to better communicate with children about what will happen during their procedures.
