Traverse City, Mich.-based Copper Ridge Surgery Center won the Intalere Healthcare Achievement Award for its Patient Experience Initiative called "The Way We Work Together," the Record Eagle reports.
Here are five highlights.
1. The initiative involves an organizational flowchart that visually maps out the center's patient experience plan. It facilitates communication and collaboration between the center's 48 staff members and 84 credentialed medical personnel.
2. The charts are displayed throughout the surgery center to encourage staff to provide excellent patient care.
3. The program was rolled out in 2016 and implemented over the past year. All departments had input in the process.
4. St. Louis-based Intalere Healthcare is a group purchasing organization with more than 100,000 members healthcare organizations. An internal committee judges members in four different categories of patient care.
5. Copper Ridge Surgery Center was one of three winners recognized in the quality/patient care delivery and/or patient satisfaction category. The center changed its name from Northwest Michigan Surgery Center at the beginning of this year.
