The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality's CAHPS Consortium is considering changing the administration timeframe for ambulatory CAHPS surveys.
The proposed change means the surveys would start with "In the last 6 months" instead of "In the last 12 months." The change would affect all versions of the CG-CAHPS surveys, including the 12-Month Survey, the Patient Centered Medical Home Survey, the Visit Survey and the commercial version of the CAHPS Health Plan Surveys, according to a news release.
The change would better align all surveys with those used by CMS, which would reduce ambulatory centers' burden of having to meet several different survey requirements, according to the release.
