The U.S. Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality named Andrew Bindman, MD, director, according to UCSF.
Here are five highlights:
1. Dr. Birdman serves as a professor of medicine and epidemiology and biostatistics at University of California, San Francisco.
2. He also is an affiliated faculty member within the Philip R. Lee Institute for Health Policy Studies at UC San Francisco.
3. For the last 30 years, Dr. Bindman has practiced, taught and conducted health sciences research at the Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center.
4. AHRQ is one of the Department of Health and Human Services' operating divisions.
5. Dr. Bindman will report directly to HSS Secretary Sylvia Matthews Burwell.
