Reno, Nev.,-based Renown Health has introduced four Xenex "germ-zapping" robots as part of their infection prevention protocols and to enhance quality patient care.
Here are five things to know about Renown Health and their new disinfecting robots:
1. Using pulsed xenon ultraviolet light, Renwon is the first in the Nevada region to use this technology, according to a release.
2. The Xenex claims to eliminate superbugs such as C.diff, MRSA influenza and Ebola.
3. Amy McCombs, director, infection prevention at Renown, said Renown is excited to add the technology to their infection prevention protocols.
4. Renown Health said they are implementing the robots as a way of being proactive in quality and infection measures.
5. Renown employs other robotics systems such as the da Vinci Robotic Surgical System and the Eksoskeleton robotic suite.
