Three tips featured in Becker’s ASC Review:
1. Implement physician-led care models focusing on patients. Safety is improved during an episode of patient care when clinicians work as a team and coordinate with each other, according to David Hamilton, CEO of Mnet Health Services, a healthcare finance outsourcing company.
2. Don’t forget medication management. When undergoing an ASC accreditation survey, medication management compliance can be improved by tackling survey aspects that can easily go overlooked, such as removing expired medications, stacking items too high in storage rooms and hanging outdated posters, said Daryl Schiller, PharmD.
3. Rely on nurses for education. Leading sessions on proper hand-washing practices and other infection control topics allows nurses to share their expertise with other ASC staff.
