The Critical Care Societies Collaborative and HHS announced awards to 12 hospital and healthcare facilities for their work preventing and eliminating healthcare-associated infections.
The recipients reduced and eliminated central line-associated bloodstream infections and ventilator-associated pneumonia for at least 25 months and have shared their evidence-based initiatives to help improve clinical practice, according to the release. CCSC and HHS also gave 14 healthcare organizations honorable mention for their efforts toward eliminating HAIs.
The awards program is part of HHS' Partnership for Patients — an initiative to improve patient safety and quality in healthcare.
