10 Challenges to Improving Healthcare Quality

Researchers have determined 10 challenges to improving healthcare quality, according to a study published in BMJ Quality and Safety.

For this study, researchers analyzed reports on five improvement programs carried out by the U.K.'s Health Foundation. The researchers also conducted a review of published literature on quality improvement. Their analysis revealed 10 common challenges:

1.    Convincing people that there is a problem that is relevant to them
2.    Convincing them that the solution chosen is the right one

6.    Tribalism and lack of staff engagement
